Turkish tea is traditionally prepared using two stacked teapots specially designed for tea preparation. Water is brought to a boil in the larger lower teapot and then some of the water is used to fill the smaller teapot on top and steep several spoons of loose tea leaves, producing a very strong tea. Tea is an important part of Turkish culture, and is the most commonly consumed hot drink.
Tea was brought to Sri Lanka from China by the British in 1824. The area has the perfect conditions to produce a robust Ceylon Black Tea. In the 19th century this tea revolutionised tea drinking due to its sweet, deep, malty and complex taste. The combination of apple, cloves, cinnamon and orange with black tea creates an explosive harmony of sweet, malty and deep flavour notes. This tea is hand blended and inspired by authentic recipes.
